Sarah Harvey (Monk) was born in Northamptonshire, where she won a place to attend the prestigious Northampton High School for Girls based solely on the English side of her entrance exam (apparently the maths paper she produced was absolutely atrocious!). She always wanted to be a novelist and began her writing career in her early twenties penning short stories for Just Seventeen Magazine. She wrote her first full novel Misbehaving when she was twenty seven, which made the Times Best Seller list, and she has since written numerous other bestselling books (she loses track but thinks the next one might be number seventeen) which have been published in England, Germany, France, Russia, Turkey, Czech, Norway and Indonesia.

If you go down to the pub today
You're sure of a big surprise, especially if you park your car and then go out for the day.
The Fisherman's Arms, our local village pub is in an idyllic setting right next to the Pill and the Rover Fowey, but you sometimes get a little bit closer to the water than you bargained for.
How close exactly? well if you go down to the next picture you'll see exactly what it is thats distracting the drinkers from their pints of Heligan Honey.....

...not exactly what was meant when we said its a nice day for a dip
the thing that worries me the most is that the tide rose and rose and then went out again, and the car was still there, so the owners might come back and be a little bit confused as to why their floor mats were rather soggy :-)
Still, almost as good entertainment for the pub visitors as the band that were playing...although boo to the somewhat callous soul who kept requesting bridge over troubled waters....

After a hard day having fun...
It's time to relax and get some sun
In a couple of chairs just made for two
and will you please hurry up with the barbecue...
a poem by the bookends, Freddie and Ruby
